About Quick-Ping Speed Test

Quick-Ping is a specialized tool for checking your internet speed. Whether you are on WiFi, 5G, 4G LTE, or fiber, our test measures your connection's bandwidth to the server handling the test. Use the result as one data point when checking whether your ISP is delivering the speeds you pay for.

What is Download Speed?

Download speed measures how fast information is transferred to you. It affects things like loading web pages, streaming videos on Netflix/YouTube, and downloading files. Measured in Megabits per second (Mbps).

What does Ping mean?

Ping (connection latency) is the reaction time of your connection. A fast ping (low number) means a more responsive connection, which is critical for online gaming and video calls (Zoom/Skype).

What is Jitter?

Jitter is the variance in ping. High jitter can result in buffering or lag spikes during gaming. Quick-Ping measures jitter to give you a complete health check of your network stability.

Upload Speed

Upload speed measures how fast you can send data to others. This is important for sending big files via email, video chatting to friends, or live streaming on Twitch or YouTube.

What is a good internet speed?

For one person, 25 Mbps download is enough for browsing and one 4K stream. Busy homes, large downloads, and multiple 4K streams benefit from 100 Mbps or more. Upload speed and latency matter for calls, gaming, and cloud backups.

Why is my WiFi speed lower than my plan?

Internet plans usually advertise the maximum speed reaching your router. Distance, walls, interference, older devices, VPNs, and other active users can all reduce the speed measured over WiFi.

How can I get the most accurate result?

Pause downloads and streaming, turn off your VPN, stay close to the router or use Ethernet, and run two or three tests at different times. Compare the median result instead of relying on one run.

How much data does the test use?

Quick-Ping caps a full test at approximately 325 MB: up to 256 MB for download testing and 64 MB for upload testing, plus small ping requests and protocol overhead. Slower connections normally use less.

Does Quick-Ping store my results?

No account is required and the measurement results are not saved by Quick-Ping. Test traffic still passes through the measurement server, as it must for any browser-based speed test.
